Andre Hambourg lived in Honfleur in 1931. A decorated war journalist and designer, Hambourg traveled extensively through Morocco and Algiers. When the war broke out he went back to France and participated in the liberation of France. He was a talented artist; married to the grand daughter of one of the most famous art collectors in France: Eugene Boudin. Noted primarily for his color-ful harbor scenes, Hambourg's work is in the Eugene Boudin Museum, Honfleur; Musee d'Art Moderne Ville, Paris; Musee National d'Art Moderne, Paris; Saint-Quentin; and Trouville-sur-Mer.
