Georges Lorin
( 1870-1951)
"Sous-Bois-Matinee d'Ete"
24 x 20 (1930)
This is one of the favorite French landscapes of the gallery (we have over one hundred!). Lorin participated in two premiere salons of the Rose-Cross in the home of Durand-Ruel. His works were well received because the feathery quality of the brushwork created shimmering light, creating depth and dimension that drew his viewers into his works; the very quality that makes this a masterpiece.
